Wow! Il primo Romics!
Avete mai avuto la sensazione di non riuscire a respirare per l’agitazione? Bene! Pensate di rimanere in quello stato per cinque giorni ed avrete solo una pallida idea di quello che abbiamo provato. Avere l’organizzazione del cosplay di Romics non è stato semplice, solo una lunga serie di telefonate ai nuovi organizzatori della Fiera del fumetto di Roma ci portò ad un incontro. Gestire una evento simile era una novità, sia per noi sia per loro, le idee erano tante ma il tempo a nostra disposizione molto poco, poichè ci affidarono ufficialmente l’incarico solo quindici giorni prima dell'inizio.
In quelle due settimane scarse abbiamo mobilitato: mamme, per stirare gli innumerevoli costumi di cui avevamo bisogno (erano previsti numerosi cambi durante le giornate), amici, che ci aiutassero per il trasporto dei materiali e persone che si occupassero delle luci durante lo spettacolo che avevamo in mente per la gara di cosplay.
Una volta pronti ad iniziare nessuno di noi sapeva quello a cui saremmo andati incontro; corse da una parte all’altra della fiera per risolvere i problemi più disparati, decine di imprevisti cui far fronte, accogliere i numerosi cosplayers per le iscrizioni alla gara, persino la ricerca di un ferro da stiro per i costumi, una corsa contro il tempo verso casa per recuperare un paio di stivali dimenticati per un personaggio e, particolare non trascurabile la disperata fame che avevamo, dal momento che a nostra disposizione avevamo unicamente dolci (non per nulla quell’edizione di Romics è passata alla storia come “Romics del diabete”!!!).
Fortunatamente oltre all’agitazione ci fu altro: siamo stati felici dell’affetto dimostrataci dagli altri cosplayers, dei complimenti ricevuti, soddisfatti del nostro operato, pur essendo alla prima esperienza e, non per ultimo, emozionati nel vedere e scortare per la fiera Monkey Punch (con versione Magic KnightS di “Lupin the 3rd”) che, simpaticamente, ci ha regalato una delle sue sigarette assicurandoci che fosse quella che originalmente fuma Jigen (Per noi è un oracolo!).
Cosa dire inoltre della serata della gara quando siamo saliti sul palco ed abbiamo cominciato a ballare interpretando Rina & Co. di “The Slayers” e poi proseguendo con “Rurouni Kenshin”? È stato elettrizzante cantare e ballare, per la prima volta su di un palco, la canzone di un cartone animato. Era proprio come se in quel momento avessimo trasformato i nostri personaggi in persone reali.
Questo è stato il nostro debutto, preparato in pochissimi giorni con tanta passione e preoccupazione, la nostra prima volta su un palco non più da partecipanti ma da responsabili del cosplay. È inutile dire che quell’esperienza è ancora viva e lo rimarrà sempre nei ricordi più belli di questa nostra avventura chiamata Magic KnightS.

Wow, our first Romics!
Did you ever feel breathless due to agitation? Well, think to feel like this for five days and you will have an idea about our condition. To obtain the management of Romics cosplay was not simple, only after lot of phone conversations we obtained to meet the fair management. To manage an happening like that was a novelty both for us and them. We had a lot of ideas, but a very few time to realize them, because we obtained officially the assignment only 15 days before Romics started. In those 15 days we mobilize: our mothers to iron the incredible quantity of costumes we need (we planned a lot of costume changes during day), friends to help us in moving materials and people who take care of light during our exhibition. When we, finally, were ready to start no one of us could imagine how many troubles we would have to face. We had to run from one edge to the other of the fair complex to solve the most unthinkable problems, thousands of unforeseen events such as to query an iron and to recover some boots we forgot at home in time for our play, and obviously we had to welcome cosplayers… but one of the most terrible things to defeat was our enormous hunger, in fact due to our inexperience we had at our disposal only candies and cakes!!!! (that’s the reason why we call that edition of Romics “Diabetes Romics”). Fortunately there were not only agitation and trouble for us! We was happy for the affection that other cosplayers gave us, for compliments received, satisfied of our work especially because it was our first experience as organizers, and last but not least our emotion when we saw and accompanied (representing our version of Lupin the 3rd) around the fair complex Monkey Punch, who in witty way gave us one of his cigarettes saying it was the original Jigen’s cigarette! (we take care of it as the most precious thing we have!!!).
And, going on, what can we say about the challenge’s evening, when we went up the stage and started to dance playing Rina & co. from “the slayers” and after that Rurouni Kenshin? It was very exciting to sing and dance on a stage, for the first time, a song from a cartoon. It was just like in that moment we made our preferred characters in real persons.
That’s our debut, prepared in very few days, with a lot ofpassion and apprehension, our first time on a stage as responsible for the cosplay and not only as simple competitors. It’s unnecessary to say that experience is still alive in our harts and is one of the most beautiful thing we’ll always remember about this adventure called “Magic KnigtS”.
