Dieci anni fa, in contemporanea con la nascita dei Magic KnightS, ho dovuto mettere da parte la mia passione per costumi e cosplay e dedicarmi all’impegnativo ruolo di mamma. Immaginate quindi la mia gioia quando Massimo mi ha chiamato per interpretare alcuni cosplay che aveva pensato per me. Eccomi nei panni della principessa Zaffiro, uno dei miei cartoni preferiti degli anni ’80. Un personaggio veramente interessante che mi aveva colpito per la sua forza e la sua determinazione. Quando vidi il cartone da bambina, non avevo idea di quanto fosse frustrante la vita di questa ragazzina, indecisa fra il suo corpo femminile e l’animo maschile. Un po’ come Lady Oscar, ma decisamente piu’ fortunata per il lieto fine della storia che mette in chiaro la sua sessualità.

Ten years ago, the very real moment when Magic KnightS were born, I had to stop doing cosplay and to start a new and more hard work: to be a mother. So you can imagine how happy I was when Massimo asked me to play some cosplay he found for me. And now you can see me playing the role of Saphire, one of my 80's preferred cartoons. A very interesting character, which strongness and determination I admired very much. When I saw this cartoon in my childhodness I couldn't imagine how it can be frustrating to have a female body but a masculine “spirit”, quite like Lady Oscar (the main character of “Versailles no bara”), but surely luckier because Saphire's adventures had a happy end and she found, at last, her true nature.
