Quando nel 2002 abbiamo deciso di realizzare il cosplay di Final Fantasy VIII non sapevamo bene a cosa andavamo in contro! Nessuno di noi aveva mai giocato prima con un videogioco per playstation e siamo rimasti un pò tutti "stregati" dal metodo di gioco di Final Fantasy ma, prima di tutto, siamo rimasti colpiti dalla sorprendente somiglianza caratteriale che avevano i personaggi rispetto a noi. Questo è l'unico motivo per cui abbiamo scelto di fare questo cosplay e portarlo al Romics 2002, probabilmente è uno dei più riusciti. Conta ben 12 tra i personaggi principali; Squall, Quistis, Rinoa, Zell, Selphie e Irvine sia in abbigliamento da combattimento che in divisa SeeD; Laguna, Raine, Ellione e Seifer; le due streghe più importanti, Edea e Ultimesia (o per chi vuole Artemisia) che sono state sicuramente il motivo più grande della nostra soddisfazione infatti i copricapi di entrambe sono stati le prime cose dei Magic KnightS a essere stati realizzati in cartapesta. Da specificare c'è anche il fatto che il gilet di Rinoa e tutto il vestito di Quistis sono stati lavorati a mano con del cotone ai ferri... un lavoro che ha portato a completamento di Rinoa solo alle 2 di notte del giorno stesso della gara di cosplay di Romics.

When, in 2002, we decided to realize Final Fantasy VIII cosplay, we didn’t know what we were going to do! No one of us had already played a PS videogame and we were a little bit “wicked” by that videogame, but most of all we were surprised by the similitude between our and the game’s characters personality. This was the only motivation that made us playing this cosplay during Romics 2002, and maybe it’s one of our best cosplay. We played 12 of the most important characters: Squall, Quistis, Rinoa, Zell, Selphie and Irvine (both with SeeD uniform and battle suite), Laguna, Raine, Ellinoe and Seifer, the most important 2 witches: Edea and Ultimesia (or Artemisia) who were surely our greatest satisfaction, in fact both their hair dresses were our first accessories entirely done with papier machè. We also have to say that Rinoa’s gilet and the entire Quistis dress were hand made with cotton ply, and due to this we completed Rinoa’s costume only few hours before the play (it was 2 a.m.!!!).
